about

French-born producer Greg Reve can proudly claim to catch people by surprise. While you may not have
heard of this extraordinary talent his tracks have been supported by some of the world’s most respected
DJs, including Laurent Garnier and American bass scene figurehead Bassnectar.

Consistently offering new perspectives and precise production, Greg Reve’s new EP for San Francisco label
Muti Music promises great things, and then delivers them in a spectacularly different fashion.

Spanning drum & bass, electro, dubstep and all manner of bass music in between, the ‘Unveiled’ EP packs
five full-length punches, three of which feature vocals from Feed Me and Noisia collaborator Tasha Baxter.

‘Let Go’ is the first of those collaborations, a track which jumps from horror organs to crunking breakbeats
and earthquake bass in the blink of an eye. Tasha’s vocals soar and climb while Greg Reve’s progressive
production allows each moment to breathe, never giving into formula as it builds to an almighty crescendo.

Tasha Baxter also features on ‘Outa Line’, a fantastic bass-music throwback to sleazy lounge bars that’s as original as it is intensely grimy, as well as ‘Illusions’ which captures French disco influences that build and grow into expansive electro; all enveloping and all consuming.
American hip hop outfit Antipop Consortium join Greg Reve for the deliciously dirty ‘Put ‘Em Up’, combining ribcage worrying bass with constantly shifting and changing musical sections topped with spitfire bars that implore you to throw your hands in the air.

Finally Greg Reve goes solo on ‘The Eclipse’, the perfect way to round off an amazing EP. An epic war between organic sounds and digital synthetics is taking place and you’re here to witness the fall of all possible reason. In Reve’s signature style this track never stops moving, never stops surprising and by the time the track drops at a brave two minutes eleven seconds you’re ready for the apocalypse that follows.
If there is one thing that the ‘Unveiled’ EP makes clear, it’s that Greg Reve is not only an accomplished producer, but a courageous one; never afraid to take the difficult road in search of a new sound or style, yet always astute enough to bring everything together with a sense of purpose. This EP is a headshot, it doesn’t give you time to think, only to succumb to its unstoppable power.
