    On Hate Speech, The Realist deliver bone crushing basslines with ruthless urban lyrics as easily as they drift into inner city turmoil and emotive soundscapes and then round it all off with the humorous, filthy and edgy ‘The Ass Track’.

    The recent attention been given to South African Hip Hop is not in vane with artists like ‘The Realist’ emerge, bridging gaps between Electronica and Hip Hop. Hate Speech also features guest appearances by Gambino and Ben Sharpa who also featured on Milanese album ‘Lockout’. The EP is being released as both a vocal and an all instrumental version.

    The Realist are here to tell it like it is. They are the political party that doesn't want your vote. They are the religion that doesn't want you kneeling at their altar. They are the uncomfortable truth that you don't want to hear. Taking no prisoners in their war of attrition against the superficiality and moral hypocrisy of polite society and popular culture, The Realist stay true to their name.
    Part hip hop crew, part rock group, The Realist are; producer T.O.B. (The Triplet of Bellville), and rappers Kid Clever and Sinister Dexter.

    Wearing their anger and disgust like a badge of honour, The Realist defy genres with their bone-crushing fusion of glitch-hop and electronica. With the power of an apocalyptic opera, their sound is characterized by heavy electronic basslines underpinning orchestral soundscapes layered with powerful lyrics and tortured death metal vocals.
